In 2006 Mr. Sun took a master degree in radio-physics in Peking University. From 2006 to 2007, he worked as a patent examiner in SIPO and dealt with searching and examining of the patent applications in the field of telecommunication and semi-conducter.
From 2008 to 2011, Mr. Sun worked as a patent engineer examiner in Gulde Hengelhaupt Ziebig & Schneider patent and trademark firm, and deal with filing patent applications for Chinese firms and responding to the search/examination report from DPMA or EPO.
From 2011 to 2012, Mr. Sun worked as a patent engineer examiner in Sanyou Intellectual Property Agency Ltd., and deal with filing patent applications for non-Chinese firms and responding to the search/examination report from SIPO, and filing patent applications for Chinese firms in non-Chinese nations and responding to the search/examination report from the patent offices in the nations.
In May 2012, Mr. Sun joined again Gulde & Partner patent and trademark firm, and deals with filing patent applications for Chinese firms and responding to the search/examination report from DPMA or EPO, and working about nullity and infringement of patents.

Since 2019 Mr. Sun works for the IP law firm ZIEBIG & HENGELHAUPT.
